Many hospitals in eastern Tokyo will probably not be able to cope with an overflow of severely injured people in the event of a powerful earthquake, experts on disaster preparedness said in a report.
After a magnitude 7.3 quake focused in the north part of Tokyo Bay, overcapacity could occur at 11 major hospitals in five densely populated eastern wards — Adachi, Katsushika, Edogawa, Sumida and Koto.
