NAGOYA (Kyodo) Some 2,200 midlevel managers at Toyota Motor Corp. will voluntarily buy new cars from the company by the end of March to shore up its slumping sales, company officials said Wednesday.
The initiative, decided at a meeting of the managers on Jan. 9, “is in no way mandatory,” an unnamed company spokesman said.
