OSAKA (Kyodo) In yet another taxi robbery in Osaka Prefecture, a 62-year-old cabby sustained minor wounds early Friday, but this time not from an apparent fare, according to the police.

But police said they believe the attackers in the latest robbery are different from those in previous cases in Osaka and Hyogo prefectures in the last two weeks, including two fatal attacks, because the crimes were carried out differently.

One of two men on a motorcycle got into a cab in a taxi pool in front of a station in Ibaraki, Osaka Prefecture, demanded money from the driver and slashed him on the chin with a knife at around 1:30 a.m., the police said.

The driver got out of his taxi but was beaten in the face by the other man. The two men, appearing to be in their 20s, made off on the motorbike with about ¥10,000 from the cab, they said.
