The Bank of Japan injected ¥600 billion into money markets Monday, continuing to provide liquidity to help calm fears of a credit crunch stemming from concerns over the U.S. subprime mortgage market.

The BOJ carried out an open-market operation for a same-day fund injection for the second successive business day in concerted efforts with U.S. and European central banks.
