Trading house Mitsui & Co. and movie producer Shochiku Co. said Tuesday they have formed a business alliance for content-downloading services for mobile phones and personal computers.
They will also cooperate in overseas sales of Shochiku movies. In the future, Mitsui will take part in movie production from the planning stage in a bid to expand its content business.
Meanwhile, Mitsubishi Corp., another major trading house, has agreed with the ad agency Dentsu Inc. to establish an investment fund for producing animated films. They are planning to invest in overseas animated movie productions through the fund.
