CHIBA (Kyodo) Sewing needles have been found in separate sets of pajamas sold at three outlets of major supermarket chain Ito-Yokado Co. in Tokyo and Chiba Prefecture since November, it was learned Monday.

The incidents have been reported to police, who are investigating, suspecting the needles were deliberately placed inside the clothes.

According to police, a shop employee found a needle in the chest pocket of a set of pajamas at Ito-Yokado's Yotsukaido store in Chiba Prefecture on Nov. 22. Similarly, a needle was found at the Matsudo outlet in the prefecture on Jan. 6. The most recent case was reported March 15, when a shopper who picked up pajamas at an outlet in Katsushika Ward, Tokyo, felt the needle.

No one has been hurt, Ito-Yokado officials said, adding that the firm decided to notify police because the pajamas were all manufactured by the same maker.
