SAITAMA (Kyodo) Three people were arrested Monday on suspicion of forging a police identification notebook and selling it in an Internet auction, police said.

Those arrested were Koichi Ito, 44, an executive at a Kobe-based entertainment agency, his wife Yukiko, 37, president of the agency, and Hiroe Yamana, 23, an entertainer working for the agency.

The three allegedly asked a handicraft manufacturer in Kawaguchi, Saitama Prefecture, to create prefectural police identification, saying they planned to use it in detective dramas and movies. They are accused of selling the fake ID to a 34-year-old man for more than 100,000 yen last July, according to investigators.
