Yamato Transport Co. will establish a joint venture with Seino Transportation Co. next month to provide a distribution service for corporate clients, the company said Monday.
Yamato Holdings Co. will assume an 85 percent stake in the joint firm, Box Charter, and Seino Holdings Co. the remainder, company officials said. The president of the new company will be dispatched from Yamato.
Combining Yamato's frequent-delivery expertise and Seino's shipping network via major highways, the firm will provide a one-stop shipping service frequently in wide regions, picking up parts and products from manufacturers and others and delivering them to their factories and clients, they said.
