NAGASAKI (Kyodo) Nagasaki Gov. Genjiro Kaneko was re-elected Sunday, fending off two opponents to clinch his third term in office.

The 61-year-old incumbent, backed by the Liberal Democratic Party, New Komeito and the Social Democratic Party, was pitted against company executive Noriko Kokubo, 47, and Mitsuaki Yamashita, 53, chairman of the Japanese Communist Party's Nagasaki chapter.
