A computer glitch brought down parts of NTT Communications Corp.'s corporate data network, disrupting about 68,000 lines in Osaka, Wakayama and Nara prefectures, the company said Thursday.

NTT Communications said the trouble began at around 5 p.m. Wednesday due to a failure at transmission facilities in Osaka.

The company said it had received about 200 inquiries from customers as of Wednesday night.

As of Thursday evening, it was still unclear when services in the three western prefectures would return to normal, the company said.
