BEIJING (Kyodo) Chinese Commerce Minister Bo Xilai said via official media Friday that boycotts of Japanese products sold in China would harm the interests of both countries.

Joint ventures and other forms of business cooperation have "inseparably intertwined" Japanese and Chinese products, so avoiding them helps no one, Bo said via the official Xinhua News Agency.

"Economic development has, step by step, become an 'I'm inside you, you're inside me' situation," Bo was quoted as saying. "Therefore, to resist products will damage the interests of both countries' producers and consumers. It's not in the interest of our cooperation or development with other countries."
