OSAKA (Kyodo) Duskin Co. said Tuesday it will operate its Mister Donut store chain in Taiwan in cooperation with major Taiwanese retailer President Chain Store Corp.

To operate the chain, Duskin and President have established an equally owned joint company, Mister Donut Taiwan Corp., in Taipei.

The joint company, capitalized at the equivalent of 700 million yen, will open its first store in Taipei in October to pave the way for setting up 100 outlets by the end of fiscal 2008, Duskin said.

Mister Donut Taiwan is aiming to chalk up 5.3 billion yen in sales in fiscal 2008.

At present, there are 1,421 Mister Donut stores in Asia-Pacific markets such as Thailand, the Philippines and China, according to Duskin.
