Japan and Mexico will hold a two-day meeting in Tokyo aimed at getting stalled free-trade negotiations back on track, negotiation sources said Monday.

The vice-ministerial meeting will start Thursday, the sources said.

The sources said that the upcoming talks are likely to play an important role ahead of a ministerial meeting, adding that five key agricultural products will constitute the focus of talks.

Japan and Mexico had planned to sign an FTA during the visit of Mexican President Vicente Fox to Japan in October.

They missed this target due to differences over the five farm products, which include orange juice and pork.
