NAGASAKI – A junior high school student who lured a 4-year-old boy away from a store in Nagasaki in July and later killed him has told police that he molested a 3-year-old boy in the city before the slaying, sources said Wednesday.
The youth, 12, who was sent Monday to a special facility to help troubled children, also told investigators he tried to undress other young boys.
After psychological tests were completed Sept. 19, police questioned him several times, during which he admitted molesting the 3-year-old, the sources said.
According to the police investigation, the 3-year-old boy was stripped and molested on a staircase landing in a large shopping complex at around 1:45 p.m. April 27.
Several incidents in which young boys were sexually molested had taken place at the shopping center since March 2002. But the sources quoted the boy as initially saying he was not responsible for them.
