Investigators on Monday finished searching a Naha house that was used by an Air Self-Defense Force sergeant in Okinawa to store a cache of weapons. This brings to a close a search operation encompassing seven locations.

One live shell was confiscated during Monday's search, although no other explosives were found, the Okinawa Prefectural Police said.

The police said they will examine how ASDF Senior Master Sgt. Takio Tamura, 53, accumulated his arsenal, which also included 19 rocket launchers, an M-16 rifle, an M-1 carbine rifle, 670 live rounds and 20 grams of gunpowder. Investigators had found two 66-mm U.S. rockets at Tamura's residence and two more at the rented house.

Tamura died at a materials storage site in Okinawa City on Aug. 31 in what investigators believe was an antitank rocket explosion.
