One person has died and 11 others have developed liver disorders since last year after taking three types of Chinese diet aids, officials at the Health, Labor and Welfare Ministry said Friday.
One of the survivors has had to undergo a liver transplant, the ministry said.
The ministry has not established a clear link between the disorders and the weight-reducing food supplements, the officials said.
