Mexico has taken various measures to tighten security at airports and improve public safety following the Sept. 11 terror attacks in the United States, Mexico’s tourism minister said as she appealed for increased visitors from Japan.
In a recent interview with The Japan Times, Leticia Navarro said the Mexican Embassy in Tokyo will set up a new tourism promotion office by the end of December. “We’ll be working closely with the Japanese travel industry to come up with specific programs to significantly increase the flow of tourists from Japan,” she said.
