The government decided Monday to compile a list of priority items under Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi’s structural reform program, government officials said.

The priority list — to be released Sept. 14 — aims to present the public with a clear picture of proposed reforms. Draft proposals presented so far by ministries and agencies to the Koizumi-led Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy are too detailed for the public to easily understand and seem to say nothing new.
