Isuzu Motors Ltd. said Tuesday it will recall and repair at no charge Elf, Condor and Atlas trucks due to defects in the steering system.

In a report presented to the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Ministry, the automaker said it will recall 118 trucks built between September 1999 and May.

According to Isuzu, the defect involves the possible detachment of part of the steering system, which would make it impossible for the driver to turn the wheel.

Isuzu manufactures the Atlas truck under commission from Nissan Motor Co. and the Condor for Nissan Diesel Motor Co.
