The Lower House approved an anticorruption bill Friday that bans politicians from receiving money and goods in return for political favors.

The bill cleared the Lower House with the support of the ruling camp — the Liberal Democratic Party, New Komeito and the New Conservative Party — and was immediately sent to the Upper House.
