A 43-year-old wife fatally stabbed her husband with a fruit knife early Monday because he opposed her going on a summer trip with their son and the wife’s friends, police said.
Junko Saito of Tokyo’s Edogawa Ward stabbed her husband, Yasuo, 43, at around 1:20 a.m. He died at a hospital two hours later. Police arrested Saito on the spot for attempted murder, later changing the charge to murder pending further investigation.
