NTT Mobile Communications Network Inc., commonly known as NTT DoCoMo, has launched an English pager service to directly deliver a variety of information to foreign residents in the Kanto region as well as in Yamanashi, Nagano and Niigata prefectures.
The menu includes headline news, lifestyle tips, horoscopes, movie theater schedules and public information from embassies as well as a billboard to post messages to other pager users, the company said.
The service, named E-nglish Channel, was launched last month in Tokyo, Kanagawa, Chiba, Saitama, Tochigi, Gunma, Yamanashi and Niigata prefectures.
The sign-up fee is 2,000 yen and the pager costs 900 yen a month. For more information in English call toll free 0120-005-250.
