Two teenage girls have been arrested on suspicion of assaulting and robbing a 35-year-old corporate worker after meeting him through a telephone dating club in Machida, western Tokyo, police said Tuesday.

An 18-year-old unemployed girl and a 17-year-old high school student called the telephone dating club at around 1:45 a.m. Thursday and told the man they were willing to sell sexual services, police said.

The two girls and four other teenage girls met the man, a customer of the club, on a street near the club and began kicking and punching him in the face, they said.

They robbed him of 20,000 yen and a cellular phone, police said. The victim, whose name is being withheld, suffered minor injuries to his face.

The man contacted police immediately after the incident, and the two girls were taken into custody. Police are looking for the other four.

The two girls reportedly told police they wanted money "to entertain themselves."
