OSAKA -- The Osaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry is inviting companies to the Global Venture Forum '98, slated for later this month, to view new technologies created by venture businesses in Japan and other countries.At the two-day convention starting here Oct. 22, 35 venture companies from eight countries will give presentations on their latest technological developments. Fields represented by the firms include information and communications technology, biotechnology, medical and health care technology, environment and energy, and advanced materials.Presenters at the forum include an American firm that will introduce a three-dimensional input device enabling a camera to take an instant 3-D color image of an object and a Japanese company that will demonstrate ink that enables digital color printers to print directly on fabric.The OCCI will arrange individual conferences between venture companies and firms interested in the presentations. The presenting companies were selected among 121 applicants by 50 Japanese experts and organizations including universities and research institutions. The criteria for selection was marketability and creativity of the technologies introduced.The OCCI is accepting applications from companies interested in learning about participating firms' technological advances.
