OSAKA -- Technoport Line, a new train line linking existing subway and monorail lines, opened here Thursday, offering better access to the Osaka Bay area.
The 3.7-km line links the Osakako subway station and the Nakafuto New Tram station via the Osaka Port Sakishima tunnel. The tunnel has been open to automobiles since October.
Two stations, Trade Center-mae and Cosmosquare, were newly built along the line, offering direct access to the Osaka World Trade Center and the Asia & Pacific Trade Center shopping and business complex on Sakishima Island.
The line, which costs 230 yen one-way per adult, halves the time between central Osaka and the World Trade Center to about 20 minutes.
