Pretty as a picture at Tokyo Marriott

Through May 9, the Tokyo Marriott Hotel is offering an accommodation plan that includes tickets to the exhibition “Mika Ninagawa: Self-image” being held at the neighboring Hara Museum of Contemporary Art.
Internationally recognized photographer Ninagawa is known for her richly colored vivid photos and is holding a solo exhibition that brings together around 150 works focusing on self-portraits, many of which are unpublished. After enjoying the exhibition, guests can relax at the hotel away from the stress of daily life.

The plan includes the breakfast buffet at the hotel restaurant Lounge & Dining G and take out drinks from Pastry and Bakery GGCo. The package also includes a 5 percent discount at the museum gift shop.

The plan is available for one night in a twin room for ¥30,856 for two people and for ¥22,496 for one person, including tax and service fees.

Fine dining at Grand Hyatt Fukuoka

The Grand Hyatt Fukuoka will hold a Hyatt Gourmet Night event on April 12.

Co-organized by the hotel’s Bar Fizz and restaurants Aroma’s and La Terrasse, the event will offer a gorgeous buffet prepared by the hotel’s skilled chefs. There will be around 30 dishes and desserts ranging from Western and Chinese to Japanese. The menu features such items as roast beef with red wine sauce accompanied by creamy potatoes; Hong Kong-style hearth-baked pork back ribs; sushi; and chawanmushi (Japanese steamed egg custard) of Hakata noodles with a pork bone broth; and strawberry crepes suzette will be finished in front of guests. Two glasses of Chandon rose sparkling wine and all-you-can-drink soft drinks will also be included.

The event will take place from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tickets are ¥4,000 per person in advance and ¥4,500 at the door (including tax and service charge).

Royal Park cherry blossom cocktails

Through April 10, the Royal Park Hotel the Shiodome is holding a Sakura Cocktail Fair at The Bar on the 24th floor.

The fair offers three cocktails featuring sakura (cherry blossoms). Somei Yoshino uses sake as a base and has cherry blossom petals floating on top; Sakura Fizz is a tall drink using cherry liqueur; and Sakura Royal is a sparkling wine-based cocktail in pale pink suggestive of the arrival of spring.

The cocktails are priced ¥1,512 each, including tax. There is also an additional table charge of ¥500 per person.

Also, The Bar has recently launched foie gras donburi chazuke (a bowl of rice with green tea) for ¥2,376 including tax.

The Bar is open from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. (till 10 p.m. on Sundays and holidays) and offers live jazz from 7 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Thursdays and Fridays.
