Summer vacation buffets

Through Aug. 31, the Pan Pacific Yokohama Bay Hotel Tokyu is serving special buffets during the summer at its Mediterranean and Japanese restaurants.

Cafe Tosca has a “Caribbean” theme with nautical decorations, staff dressed in pirate costumes and Caribbean-style buffet menus. Dishes include pork loin chop grilled in banana leaves, spicy shrimp curry and a whole leg of carved roast beef.

The buffet is from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and costs ¥4,700 on weekdays and ¥5,600 on weekends, holidays and Aug. 11-15 (¥2,800 for children age 6-12).

In a rare move for a Japanese restaurant, the Uemura eatery has prepared a buffet where guests can order as much food as they want from a seasonal menu of 17 appetizers, nine main dishes, six rice and noodle dishes and six desserts.

The lunch buffet (11:30 a.m.-3 p.m.) is ¥6,500 and dinner (5 p.m.-10 p.m.) ¥8,000.

The hotel is a one-minute walk from Minato-Mirai Station. For more information or reservations, call (045) 682-2222.
