Aug. 3-Oct. 20

Organized by Toda Corp., "Tokyo 2021" takes place in the construction company's Toda Building headquarters before preparations to rebuild it into a skyscraper begin.

As Tokyo readies itself for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games, Toda looks toward 2021 and beyond, challenging visitors to think about what will happen to Tokyo after the games. The event is divided into two exhibitions: the first (Aug. 3-31), focuses on architects' suggestions and proposals for a future Tokyo; while the second (Sept. 14-Oct. 20) looks at artworks that explore festivals and disasters, two kinds of events that are strongly tied to the history of Japan.
