Japanese musician Ryuichi Sakamoto's soundtrack for the movie "The Revenant" is among the works nominated for the 59th Grammy Awards, according to a list released Tuesday.

The awards given out by the National Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences are considered the top honors in the U.S. music business and will be announced Feb. 12.

Sakamoto, 64, received the award in 1989 for scoring the movie "The Last Emperor." He has also won Academy and Golden Globe awards.

This year, Sakamoto was nominated in the Best Score Soundtrack for the Visual Media category together with German musician Alva Noto, who also worked on "The Revenant."
