Peter Ferdinand Drucker (1909-2005), the popular American management consultant, educator and writer was also an ardent Japanese art collector who, since his first visit to the country in 1959, gradually amassed a major collection of traditional pieces.

A total of 111 works — mostly rare Muromachi Period (1392-1573) ink paintings — from Drucker's Sanso Collection have now been brought to the Chiba City Museum for an exhibition that, unlike many other foreign collections, surprisingly does not focus on ukiyo-e prints. Included are the works of esteemed artists such as Kaiho Yusho (1533-1615), Ike no Taiga (1723-1776) and Gyokudo Uragami (1745-1820).
