After “Life of Pi” earned Ang Lee an Oscar for best director and so many friends gushed about the film, I decided to give it a second chance on DVD. My opinion didn’t change an iota. Lee’s tale of a young Indian shipwreck survivor trapped on a lifeboat with a Bengal tiger deserved its Oscars for visual effects and cinematography, but the story piles on the spiritual malarkey with the enthusiasm of a drunk who’s just off the wagon.

In line with COVID-19 guidelines, the government is strongly requesting that residents and visitors exercise caution if they choose to visit bars, restaurants, music venues and other public spaces.
