France has had a long reputation of producing fine art, from the Baroque of the French Renaissance to 19th-century Impressionists and Surrealists.
As avid collectors of such art, Russia's aristocracy, including empress Catherine the Great, amassed an impressive number of French works, many of which are now housed at The State Pushkin Museum of Fine Art in Moscow. Around 70 pieces, spanning 300 years, have been selected from the museum's collection for this exhibition; April 26-June 23.
