A good DVD to watch after a tough day (or week or year) is “Rentaneko (Rent-a-Cat),” Naoko Ogigami’s relaxing-yet-entertaining 2012 dramady about a cool cat lady (Mikako Ichikawa) who “rents” felines to lonely people, but turns out to be the loneliest of all. The English-subbed Japanese edition of the DVD includes interviews, a “making of” video and other bonus features.

In line with COVID-19 guidelines, the government is strongly requesting that residents and visitors exercise caution if they choose to visit bars, restaurants, music venues and other public spaces.
