The Yamatane Museum of Art is celebrating its 45th anniversary with an exhibition showcasing the best works from its vast collection.

Founded in 1966 as Japan’s first museum specializing in nihonga (Japanese-style painting), the museum is known for exhibiting not only famous paintings that have been designated as “Important Cultural Properties,” but also outstanding works from less-well-known artists.
