Mitsubishi Motors Corp. on Wednesday raised the number of models subject to a recall it announced last week to 19 from 17.

MMC officials said the revision is due to mistakes made while gathering reports from various divisions.

The additions to the recall list, originally announced June 2, are Legnum models manufactured between November 1996 and January 1997, which have defective air bags, and the Lancer Evolution III vehicles made in fiscal 1995, which could have problems with their engine pistons.

A recall for Legnum and Galant model vehicles over air bag problems was put into effect Saturday, but the recalls of models affected by other defects have not yet taken effect.
