Sendai 89ers star Kejuan Johnson delivered a brilliant offensive performance on Saturday.

The Long Beach State product scored a game-high 40 points on 12-for-17 shooting and went 13-for-13 at the free-throw line.

Repeatedly, Sendai fans heard "swish!" as shot after shot taken by Johnson found the bottom of the net in the hosts' 89-82 victory over the Gunma Crane Thunders.

He added 10 rebounds, five assists and two steals as the 89ers improved to 17-6.

Wendell White scored 22 points and Adrian Moss had nine for Sendai, and point guard Takehiko Shimura dished out five assists.

Carlos Dixon paced Gunma (5-16) with 22 points and Melvin Ely scored 14.

Albirex BB 91, B-Corsairs 61

In Niigata, Thomas Kennedy, Patrick Sullivan and Yuichi Ikeda all had 16 points in a runaway victory over Niigata.

The Albirex (13-10) scored 30 fourth-quarter points to guarantee the win.

Warren Niles had 14 points for the B-Corsairs (4-19) and Masayuki Kabaya, Dzaflo Larkai and Satoshi Hisayama all had 10.

Grouses 77, Big Bulls 73

In Toyama, 2013-14 bj-league regular-season MVP Masashi Joho returned to the Grouses lineup after a seven-game absence due to a knee injury and sparked coach Bob Nash's club with 15 points, three assists and two steals in 31 minutes.

Sam Willard contributed 16 points and nine rebounds for Toyama (16-7) and Tatsunori Fujie had 13 points. Five Grouses reached double digits in points.

Scootie Randall led Iwate (20-3) with 20 points, Lawrence Blackledge scored 16 and Wayne Arnold 15.

In Okaya, Nagano Prefecture, Patrick Sanders drained four 3s in a 23-point effort and DeVaughn Washington had 19 points to ignite the hosts past Aomori.

Carl Hall contributed 12 points for Shinshu (9-10).

Paul Williams finished with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Wat's (13-10) and frontcourt mate Gyno Pomare added 14 points and 16 boards.

In Okinawa City, Draelon Burns' team-high 21 points and tenacious perimeter defense guided the defending champions past Shiga.

Anthony McHenry had 13 points, Anthony Kent added 11 points and nine boards and Kibwe Trim supplied 10 points and 10 rebounds for Ryukyu (18-3).

Jeff Parmer led the Lakestars (11-6) with 22 points and 16 rebounds and Ray Nixon scored 18 points.

Shiga missed 23 of its 26 attempts from 3-point range.

In Tagawa, Fukuoka Prefecture, Josh Peppers' 30-point, eight-rebound, nine-assist game guided the hosts past winless Saitama.

Kirk Van Slyke scored 21 points and eight-time All-Star Cohey Aoki had 16 points for the Rizing (5-16).

Gary Johnson was the Broncos' top scorer with 26 points.

Saitama fell to 0-19.

Evessa 82, HeatDevils 77

In Beppu, Oita Prefecture, Josh Dollard scored 22 points and Seth Tarver rang up 14 in a triumph over the HeatDevils.

Osaka improved to 15-8; Oita fell to 6-15.

Kellen Thornton finished with 20 points and 17 rebounds for the HeatDevils, while Demetri McCamey had 17 points.

In Kyoto, Kevin Kotzur's 22-point, 15-rebound effort spearheaded the hosts in a convincing victory over Nara.

Shun Watanuki and David Palmer added 16 points apiece for Kyoto (20-3). Macho forward Reggie Warren raked in 12 rebounds.

For the Bambitious (7-12), Andre Murray scored 11 points.

In Inagi, Akita put 37 points on the board in the opening quarter en route to a second rout in as many days over Tokyo.

Deshawn Stephens had team-high totals in points (26) and rebounds (19) for the Northern Happinets, who won their eighth straight game.

Shigehiro Taguchi poured in 23 points for Akita (20-4 overall, 13-1 on the road) and Richard Roby added 20 points and eight assists. Akitomo Takeno had a 12-point game and savvy veteran forward Ruben Boykin contributed nine rebounds and six assists in almost 25 productive minutes off the bench.

Jemal Farmer paced the Cinq Reves (4-20 overall, 1-11 at home) with 24 points. Akihito Inoue had 13 points and Isamu Omori scored 10. Will Foster chipped in with eight points and 16 rebounds.

Tokyo's losing streak reached nine games.

In Yonago, Tottori Prefecture, hot-shooting perimeter marksmen Edward Yamamoto and Joe Chapman sparked the hosts to a series-opening win, sending Takamatsu to its ninth consecutive loss.

Yamamoto drained 4 of 6 3-pointers in a 28-point outburst. Chapman sank 4 of 5 3s in a 26-point afternoon. Bingo Morriex added nine points and nine rebounds for Shimane (5-18), which converted 11 of 17 shots from beyond the 3-point arc.

Andrais Thornton led the Five Arrows (7-16) with 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Koki Yabuuchi had 15 points, Justin Watts scored 13 and Dexter Lyons 12.

After missing four games with a knee sprain, Takamatsu big man B.J. Puckett returned to the lineup and contributed 14 points and seven boards.

Phoenix 78, Firebonds 67

In Koriyama, Fukushima Prefecture, Hamamatsu dominated the fourth quarter, outscoring the hosts 27-14 to snatch the victory.

Nile Murry energized the Phoenix (18-3) with 16 points, including a 10-for-13 effort at the foul line. Olu Ashaolu had 14 points and seven rebounds and Masahiro Oguchi and Mo Charlo both scored 13 points. Charlo supplied 12 rebounds and five assists in an all-around strong performance.

For Fukushima (7-16), Verdell Jones III had 22 points, nine rebounds and six assists, while Terrance Shannon and Masaya Karimata finished with 13 and 11 points, respectively.

The expansion Firebonds had 19 turnovers.
