David Palmer, the 2006-07 bj-league MVP, is having a productive rookie season in the NBA Development League. The 215-cm forward is averaging 7.7 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for the Dakota Wizards. Palmer, who helped the Osaka Evessa win a second straight championship last season, has started in 10 of his 26 games and has played 21.2 minutes per game through Sunday. The Southern Utah University product scored a season-high 22 points on Dec. 29. Dakota leads the D-League's four-team Central Division with an 18-12 record.
