Trailing 6-3 in the ninth, Shogo Akada slammed a three-run homer off Hawks rookie Tsuyoshi Wada to tie the game.

Seibu reliever Shinji Mori (6-2) pitched one inning for the win and closer Kiyoshi Toyoda pitched the 10th for his League-leading 35th save of the season.

Pedro Valdes hit two solo homers and Tadahito Iguchi belted a three-run clout to cap Daiei’s five-run fifth.

Hitoshi Tamura pinch-hit an RBI single in Yokohama’s go-ahead three-run sixth as the BayStars beat Hanshin at Koshien Stadium.

Hanshin’s win streak at Koshien came to a halt at eight, and its magic number remained at six.

Rookie Shuichi Murata and Takahiro Saeki belted solo homers in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively.
