The prefectural governors who spoke in favor of joining the TPP negotiations talk a lot of sense ("Survey: Only six governors favor joining TPP trade talks," Oct. 29).
The others are all in the pockets of various agricultural lobbies, and just like the elderly farmers they are so friendly with, they would clearly prefer to keep their heads buried in the sand and pretend Japanese farming can go on the same way as it did in the Edo Period. They should not be listened to.
