The death toll from July's arson attack on a Kyoto Animation Co. studio has risen to 36 after a woman being treated in hospital for severe burns died, police said Saturday.
The woman in her 20s, an employee of the company who was on the first floor of the studio at the time of the attack, died of septic shock Friday night, the police said.
Her name has been withheld by police, who said they will decide what to do after discussions with the victim's family.
