President Barack Obama visited with a young family in the living room of their suburban house in Nebraska on Wednesday, the first stop on what the White House said would be a year-long tour to talk with Americans about fixing the nation's polarized politics.
His trip to Nebraska, a Republican "red state," is meant to help promote the big-picture ideas he laid out in his final State of the Union speech on Tuesday.
Obama said in his speech that he regretted that politics have become more polarized during his time in office and that average Americans feel "the system is rigged" against them.
