Tanaka Kikinzoku Jewelry K.K. unveiled a pure gold replica of a Gundam robot at a press preview Thursday for an exhibition titled “The Art of Gundam.”

The figurine, which stands 12.5 cm tall and weighs 1 kg, has a hefty price tag of ¥20 million. It will be displayed for sale at the exhibition.

The exhibition is being staged by the Mori Arts Center Gallery in Tokyo’s Roppongi district until Sept. 27. It introduces the world of “Mobile Suit Gundam,” the first series in the Gundam anime franchise, in the largest scale ever.

More than 1,000 items used during the production of TV programs and theatrical films over the past 36 years will be on display.

In addition, highlights of the new anime series, to be broadcast in Japan starting in October, will be shown.
