An angler on a sport fishing boat that sank following a collision Wednesday with a Maritime Self-Defense Force transport vessel off Hiroshima Prefecture died early Thursday, the second fatality of the accident.
Koji Otake, 66, was one of three anglers aboard the boat Tobiuo, skippered by Kiyoshi Takamori, 67, who died Wednesday morning.
The Japan Coast Guard raised the fishing boat Thursday and is investigating the accident on suspicion of professional negligence resulting in death.
