Mitsubishi Electric Corp. said Tuesday it has won orders for 84 elevators to be installed in two building complexes in Chengdu, China.
Fifteen of the units are high-speed elevators that can travel up to six meters per second (about 21 kph). The company plans to start delivering the products in November. The buildings are scheduled to open in 2013, the company said. It also won orders for four escalators in one of the complexes. The terms were not disclosed.
