The operator of Tokyo Skytree will start selling another 1,000 tickets to the 350-meter-level observation deck on weekdays
Tobu Tower Skytree Co. said Tuesday it will start selling the ¥2,500 tickets to the Tembo Deck online at 10 a.m. Thursday for weekdays from June 4 and July 10.
The operator has been issuing the tickets only on a reservation basis, setting the upper daily limit of visitors at 14,000 through July 10. It decided to issue more tickets because "no major congestion has been detected (on the deck) and some people cancel their tickets on the reservation dates."
Tobu released an estimate that 1.64 million people visited Tokyo Skytree Town, including the tower and a commercial complex, in the first week since opening May 22, and that 85,000 went up to the 350-meter observation.
The Tembo is one of the two observation decks on the 634-meter tower, with the other at 450 meters above the ground.
