Japan Airlines Corp., which has only 20 men in its pool of 4,300 flight attendants, ran a flight Saturday from Tokyo to Okinawa featuring only male flight attendants to honor the traditional Boys' Day festival, now known as Children's Day.

The Boeing 777 used for the flight to Naha was painted in special livery featuring the logo of Tokyo Sky Tree. The flight's eight male cabin crew members served up sweet "kashiwa mochi" rice cakes typically served at the Children's Day.

The flight was named "koinobori" after the carp-shaped streamers families fly for the festival. JAL also ran a special flight to mark Girls' Day on March 3.
