Two Chinese fishery patrol boats were spotted Thursday morning in a zone contiguous to the disputed Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea, officials said.

A Japan Coast Guard ship confirmed that one of the vessels entered the zone about 44 km north-northwest of Uotsuri Island, part of the Japan-administered Senkaku group, at around 8:20 a.m., followed by another seven minutes later, the officials said.
