Major corporations began holding briefings outlining their employment policies Thursday for college juniors looking to enter the labor market in April 2013.

But while manufacturers appear to be recovering from the March 11 earthquake and tsunami, job prospects remain severe for young job hunters.

On Thursday, job information provider Mainichi Comnet Co. kicked off a two-day job fair in Shinjuku Ward, Tokyo, where officials from some 100 companies are expected to meet with about 7,000 job applicants.
