Otsuka Holdings Co. is considering listing its stock on the Tokyo Stock Exchange later this year, sources said Friday.

With a market capitalization estimated at roughly ¥1 trillion, the major drug and food group's initial public offering could have as much impact as Dai-ichi Mutual Life Insurance Co.'s IPO scheduled in April, analysts said.

Otsuka will likely spend the money raised by the IPO on research and development, the sources said.
