SYDNEY – Australia should begin legal action against Japan’s whaling program immediately and ensure any free-trade agreement between the two countries is dependent on the end of whaling, the Australian Greens party said Wednesday.
The party believes Australia’s Labor-led government, which was elected on the platform of ending whaling in the Southern Ocean, has done little during its two years in office to address the issue.
